Altered healthy foods you need to know

Not all companies have the same ethics and much less share our interest in your health care which leads them to produce altered healthy foods.

Sealed juices

Worldwide there are emerging companies that offer these sealed juices which are nothing more than a combination of fruits and vegetables in a special glass. But the problem is that in many cases these classic juices are altered and become very sweet traps because they get rid of the pulp and peel which is where all the fiber is.

The problem is that with no fiber, the sugar from fruits and vegetables generate spikes in blood sugar which leaves you sleepy and hungry. Not to mention that these slopes can cause high blood sugar that over time cause diseases like diabetes.

It is better that you check where you buy your juices to truly be healthy and to avoid altered healthy foods.

Instant oatmeal

Some companies sell low-fiber oats with high sugar which spikes blood sugar level just as we saw with sealed juices. And that is why some instant oatmeals instead of giving you energy in the morning, they leave you tired.

The solution is simple, only need to check the nutritional content of oats and ensure that you have less than 4g of sugar and more than 3g of fiber.

Nutritional bars

Nutritional bars contain inulin fiber which comes from roots and when consumed much can produce gas, bloating, nausea, and cramping. Also during digestion of inulin it release fructose in large amounts that the body can not process.

Now the reason why I added it to the list of altered healthy foods is because nutritional bars come in industrial packaging so they are bars processed to which are added additional components to ensure its longevity, which is not good for our health.

Then the recommendation is to prepare our own bar at home and eat in moderation.

Almond milk

Together with the milk of non-transgenic soybeans are the best choice to consume milk. Especially almond milk is low in saturated fat and low in cholesterol. In this way protects cardiovascular health.

The problem is that there are brands that add carrageenan, a thickening agent derived from seaweed and is related to digestive problems.

So you have something else to consider before choosing your favorite brand to buy almond milk.
