A lot of people drink coffee with the purpose of getting more energy to start the day, but here are better options to wake up without coffee.
This are my personal recommendations so there might be much more options beside this ones. Although the ones that I’m about to share with you have more benefits than boosting your energy level, because those will improve your life’s quality. By the way, I don’t recommend drinking coffee or any other product with caffeine neither with processed sugar.
You may have listen the benefits in coffee, but several of the research that I have read are sponsored by the caffeine industry and also the nutritive components are insignificant compared with the harmful components that affect our nervous system and that impact our body in several ways.
Wake up without coffee
Our body responds to light, so when is dark at night our body rise its melatonin levels to produce sleep. And in the daylight it reduces to wake up. So the first thing you should do to start the day is open the windows to light up your house which will help you to get more energy.
Now that you will open the windows you will be able to breath fresh air and is best in the first hours of sunlight because there’s when the air is purer. The air is very important to boost energy and to improve cognition.
Water / Orange juice
One of my favourite habits is to drink a glass of water or fresh orange juice in the morning. This have amazing benefits specially in fast. It will give you energy but also it have excellent benefits for health and general wellbeing.
Being well hydrated reduce fatigue and rise concentration. Also the orange juice have flavonoids which are antioxidants that improve attention and cognitive abilities.
Cold water shower
Cold water showers improve blood flow and keep the natural oil in the skin to stay hydrated which gives a good looking aspect. So for beauty is a good idea to have a cold shower. Beside that you will wake up for sure, improve your attention and your energy from the very first drop of cold water.
By the way, cold water regulates internal temperature which activates the whole body and the thermal energy turns into kinetic energy. Also it rise metabolic activity.
If your eat processed food, your body will waste a lot of energy trying to digest it. Instead eat food that are easily digested like fruit and vegetables, in this way you will have more energy during the day. The food that is good for you is the one that is fresh and natural. Phyisical activity like walk, aerobic exercise or sports like tennis have the quality of improving blood flow and cognitive capacity. This is due since exercise improve oxygen levels for brain function. Also it’s important to breathe deep for this.
During exercise hippocampus is highly activated and this improve memory and learning. Also exercise is the best medicine for depression because it give you energy and the feeling of wellbeing that improve self esteem.
Listen to music, although it depends on the kind of music, could improve blood flow and release dopamine which is the neurotransmitter of pleasure. This means that you will feel much better.
A side of what you decide to do or what works best for you, you should remember that the important thing is that those are good for your health.
